Her hips don’t lie, but her accent is questionable.

Or so say some of Shakira’s fans, who accused her of using a fake Spanish accent while filming a music video in her hometown of Barranquilla, Colombia.

After a clip went viral of her chatting on set of “La Bicicleta”, her hit with popular Colombian singer Carlos Vives, some said she switched out her native dialect to that of someone from Spain.

“Shakira in her own country, in her native city, where she grew up and lived, speaking with a Spanish accent…Ahhh okkk!!!” wrote one user on Twitter.

Another added, “Speaking with a Spanish accent in Colombia looks pretty ridiculous in my opionion.”

In her defense, Shakira, 39, may have picked her “adopted” cadence from her boyfriend Gerard Piqué, a soccer star from Spain.

The couple have lived in Barcelona since 2012 with their children, Milan, 3, and Sasha, 17 months.

Shakira isn’t the only pop star accused of a changing her twang.

In the early 2000s, Madonna was critizied for her faux British accent after she moved to England to live with her then-husband, movie director Guy Ritchie.
